A drone believed to be a Russian Shahed variant hit the Osiny village in Poland's Lublin province, shattering windows in homes but causing no injuries to residents.

The Netherlands will send two Patriot air defence systems and around 300 personnel to protect a hub for military aid to Ukraine in NATO ally Poland, the Polish defence minister said on Thursday.

A Russian drone crashed and exploded in eastern Poland on Tuesday night, Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said. He called the incident a “provocation” by Moscow, according to the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

Polish officials said on Wednesday they were not ruling out that an object that exploded overnight in a field in eastern Poland was a Russian or smuggling drone, or a case of sabotage, though they had not detected anything entering Polish airspace.
