Alexander Isak and Newcastle United are now embroiled in a war of words following the Swede’s shock statement.

Newcastle and Isak are at war, but with so little time remaining of the transfer window, an uncomfortable truce may be more likely than his dream move to Liverpool.

Isak was not present at Tuesday's PFA awards, where he was the only Newcastle player to be named in the Premier League team of the season.
