Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud secured a tight 3-5, 5-3, [10-8] victory over Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper to advance to the final of the US Open mixed doubles.

The second semifinal between defending champions Sara Errani/Andrea Vavassori and the all-American, last-minute alternate pairing of Danielle Collins/Christian Harrison is underway, as they bid to join Świątek/Ruud in the mixed doubles finale.

In the final, they beat third seeds Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 scoreline. Before reaching the final, the Italian pair knocked out the American pair of Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison in straight sets. In the on-court interview, then, Vavassori declared, “ We have been on a mission .”
