LONDON (Reuters) -Revellers, dancers and musicians filled the streets of west London on Monday for the annual Notting Hill carnival, one of the world's largest street parties that, despite its cultural prominence, has struggled with funding challenges.

Revellers are parading in colorful costumes through the streets of Notting Hill, in west London, for the annual carnival which started in 1966 and is one of the largest festival celebrations of its kind in Europe celebrating Caribbean culture.

The party atmosphere in west London is set to intensify on Monday as revellers head to the Notting Hill Carnival for its second day. Colourful costumes, dancing and music filled the streets of west London for Europe's biggest street party's children's day on Sunday, and the spectacle will continue with the main parade on Monday.
