Phoenix police released the name on Wednesday of the student who was stabbed to death at Maryvale High School and what weapon was used.
The UA Police Department responded to the school after receiving a call about the stabbing at the Main Library around 2 p.m. Aug. 19. The girl was found with several stab wounds, according to a news release. A boy, 17, who fled the scene was detained after a pursuit and booked into Pima County Juvenile Detention Center, the release said.
