Alexis Lafreniere and Zac Jones scored as the New York Rangers beat the Seattle Kraken 2-0 on Sunday night. Jonathan Quick stopped 24 shots for his second straight shutout and 62nd of his career. Quick has won all five of his starts as the backup to Igor Shesterkin.

The Kraken had been rolling in the deep — until they met the Blueshirts Blockade. Seattle’s four-game win streak to start a nearly two-week homestand was halted by Jonathan Quick and the Rangers, who picked up a 2-0 win Sunday night at Climate Pledge Arena as the 38-year-old netminder was impenetrable in his second straight shutout.
