The man who fired more than 500 rounds at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention appears to have tried to get onto the agency’s campus two days before the August 8 shooting, according to an agency email obtained by CNN.

Officials are still investigating a shooting at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, that killed a police officer on Aug. 8. The suspect, Patrick Joseph White, 30, may have been disgruntled over vaccine side effects before perpetrating the shooting, according to multiple reports.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the gunman as 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, of Kennesaw, Georgia.
