Lyndon Byers, who played nine NHL seasons with the Boston Bruins and helped the team reach the Stanley Cup Final in 1988 and 1990, has died at the age of 61.

Former Bruin Lyndon Byers died Friday, his wife announced on social media. He was 61. Byers played 10 seasons in the NHL, the first nine with the Bruins. He was a huge fan favorite in Boston, particularly during the rock-’em-sock-’em mid-1980s,
